We no longer offer these classes thru CFCC as in the past .  The kayak classes thru CFCC are now run by Riversport
Kayak and are really more of a sight seeing trip than a class. Aardvark's Classes focus on instruction, not sightseeing.

AVG0092C - Ozello Kayak Trip
The Ozello Kayak Trip is an entry level exploration of the near shore marine environment and the estuary of Citrus
County. Students will explore the mangroves, oyster reefs, salt marshes and the clear water grass flats of the St. Martins
Marsh Aquatic Preserve. Offered by Reservation  Call 352-795-5650

AVG0901C - Crystal River Manatees Trip
The Crystal River Manatees Trip is an entry level kayak based exploration of Kings Bay. Most classes are scheduled
during peak manatee season, so manatee encounters can be expected. Discussions will center around manatee

AVG0094C - Rainbow Springs Kayak Trip
The Rainbow Springs Kayak Trip is an entry level paddle from KP Hole County Park to some of the springs making up
this unique freshwater river system. The Rainbow River is designated as an aquatic preserve and the former aquatic
preserve manager will discuss the ecology and geology of the river. Offered by Reservation Monday through Friday

AVG00XXXX   - Trails of the Crystal River Preserve State Park
Explore some of the walking trails on coastal Citrus County's largest preserve with the former land manager and biologist
who originally designed the trail system.  Offered by Reservation  Call 352-795-5650

AVG0091C - Basic Kayaking or Keeping the Dry Side UP
Basic Kayaking meets at Wallace Brooks Park in Inverness. After a brief discussion of kayaks, equipment and safety,
the students will be introduced to some of the basic fundamentals of the sport including boat handling, shallow water
entry and exit, transport and the paddle stroke.


Cost is $30 per person for regularly scheduled Thursday classes and $45 per person for other days
and may be
scheduled for other venues

GPS Basics and Small Boat Navigation

Where am I?;How do I get back?;What is GPS and how does it work.;Understand the GPS displays.Using/Creating
Routes, Tracks, Charts, Waypoints, Data Fields, WAAS and Tide Stations. Discuss the best ways to navigate while
fishing or kayaking in our coastal waters.A demonstration of how to use aerial photographs available on the Web as an
aid to the GPS and navigation. Purchasing decisions. Classes are scheduled for December 19th, 2007 and February
20th, 2008.

AVG009xC - Basic Kayak Safety (Rescue and Recovery)
Basic Kayak Rescue meets at Aardvark's Florida Kayak Company in Crystal River. This class is designed for the
paddler who is already familiar with the basics of paddling. This class will focus on boating safety, assisted rescue and
self-rescue. Cost is $30 per person for the regularly scheduled classes and $45 per person for other days.  Class meets
every other Thursday unless otherwise noted on the calendar.
